What is the prostate?
Do women have a prostate?
How can I find the prostate?
Can you have a prostate orgasm?
Can I stimulate the prostate without anal penetration?

Whether in one of ourstores or online, we are constantly getting questions about the prostate.

We want to take the time to address all of your concerns here.

What is the Prostate?

First of all, only people who are born as men (XY chromosomes) have a prostate. It ishomologous (twinsies) with thefemale G-spot

Much like the female G-spot, the prostate also referred to as the "P-spot", can provide a lot of pleasure to anyone lucky enough to possess one.

Theprostate is a gland that serves an essential function in the male reproductive system. It surrounds your urethra (where you pass urine.) It is located in front of the rectum and below the bladder.

Often described as the size and shape of a walnut, it may grow as a man ages. It may develop into the size of a lemon in some around the age of fifty or sixty. This isn't always a bad thing; just a normal part of development.

The Prostate and Ejaculation

The P-spot plays a significant role inejaculation and reproduction.

When you create sperm, a separate liquid is milky in appearance that provides your little swimmers with nutrients. The prostate provides this. These nutrients are to help strengthen the sperm on their long (attempted) journey to the egg. These milky fluids are what is produced by the prostate gland.

During ejaculation, the smooth muscles inside the prostate contract and force this nutritious fluid out.

Somescientific studies have concluded that regular ejaculation can help reduce the risk of developing an enlarged prostate or even prostate cancer.

Since playing with the prostate often produces a milky liquid, that is why you often hear about "prostate milking", which tends to be an elongated prostate-stimulating experience.

Where is the Prostate?

If you've gone in for a prostate exam at your doctor's office, we needn't explain this to you. For those of you who haven't yet, you can find it about two inches (roughly five centimetres) inside of the anal canal.

To find it, generously lubricate a finger and insert it into the anus. Slightly curving your finger up towards the person's belly button internally. Then gently, using the ball of your finger, feel around for something roughly the size and shape of a chestnut.

Please, before you go looking for the prostate, no matter your gender identity, please trim your nails and wash your hands thoroughly. The skin inside of the anal canal and rectum are very delicate and easily injured.

Not ready to have something in your butt yet? We understand! There's another external way to stimulate the prostate. This is through what is called theperineum, aka "the taint" or "the gooch."

The taint is an area of skin between the backside of the scrotum and the anus. Again, using the ball of your finger or a vibrator, apply pressure to this area until you feel pleasure. You may be able to experience an orgasm through stimulation of the perineum alone.

How do I Know I've Found the Prostate?

First of all, being aroused is very helpful. When you're aroused, the prostate will swell in size, making it easier to locate.

If you're trying tofind the prostate from the taint access point, it may be a little difficult as you probably won't feel the actual gland itself.

Following the line from the firmer area of the penile bulb, keep going until you feel a softer, fleshier place. This is what you're looking for.

When stimulated, you may feel as if you need to pee because the prostate surrounds your urethra. Don't worry, and keep going!

Suppose you're going through the back alley access point with your well lubricated and recently manicured finger. In that case, you'll feel a change in tissue texture as you reach towards the belly button. It should feel rounded and bulbous. That is the golden ticket!

Prostate Orgasms

If you want to experience a prostate orgasm, it may take some time and patience. Feeling comfortable withanal play is going to be helpful along this route.

Science isn't exactly sure how or why prostate stimulation feels good, perhaps because scientific research about the prostate is seriously lacking. However, there are a few theories.

Thisstudy published in 2017 cites two prevailing theories.

The first is that the anus, prostate, penis and urethra are connected tothe prostatic plexus. This is an area located at the base of the spine. By activating one place that is part of this nerve network, you stimulate the rest.

The second theory is that exposure to prostate play leads to comfort, which leads to a pleasurable experience. Pretty simple, right?

Regardless of why it brings orgasms to many, it is something to be acknowledged and appreciated!

Prostate orgasms often feel similar to a penile orgasm but a more intense and full-bodied experience.

Ways to Stimulate the Prostate with Your Finger

Every body is unique.

Therefore you may want a different kind of stimulation on your P-spot than your partner or friend does. Hence, we want to give you some tips on how you can play with it.

Many of these techniques answer the question of "how to massage the prostate", something many are curious about.

  • The "Come Hither" Motion - Since the P-spot and the G-spot are twinsies, it makes sense that a similar type of stimulation would activate them both. Wave your finger(s) in the same manner you would ask someone to come closer to you by curling your finger(s)

  • Drawing Circles - Using the ball of your well-lubricated finger, pretend to trace small, slow circles on the prostate

  • Doorbell Ditch - Don't actually ditch, obviously, but use the ball of your finger to press the prostate, alternating between short and long intervals of pressing and releasing.

Whatever brings you or your partner pleasure is what it's all about! Massage the prostate anyway that feels best in the moment.
