Pheromone perfume is EVERYWHERE at the moment, igniting the senses and making us instantly irresistible to the opposite sex. But, do they actually work? Pheromones play a big role in influencing behaviour, but not exactly in the way you think.

What are Pheromones?

Similar to hormones, pheromones are bodily chemicals that can trigger certain behaviour such as arousal when secreted. However, when it comes to pheromone perfumes and oils the results aren’t cut and dry when it comes to sexual attraction.

While pheromone oil won’t make someone fall in love with you, there is evidence to suggest that pheromone oil has a positive affect on potential partners. When compared to a placebo, pheromone mixtures had greater success in producing sociosexual behaviour, along with improved mood and focus. There’s even evidence to suggest that pheromone oil reduces stress on the wearer, making them even more prone to attraction and arousal.
