“I want something my partner and I can use together”

This is  probably one of the most common requests we hear in store. And honestly, it makes total sense. The truth is, with a little creativity anything we sell can be used with a partner (or more) and be super effective. Usually, what people mean by this is a toy that helps a clit-haver reach orgasm during penetrative sex with a penis-haver. So let’s start there. (Of course, everyone’s different - what works for one couple might not work for another - so play around to see what you both like.)

Bullets

Personally I’m a big fan of simple bullets for this job. There's a million kinds to fit every preference for size/shape/budget. They’re also (in my opinion) unintimidating, they’re usually no bigger than a lipstick so there should be very few complaints from anyone self conscious about their own natural equipment. They’re also super simple, usually only 1 button and a range of settings. It's a total mood killer to mess around with multiple buttons and settings when trying to be intimate.

Functionally they’re super easy to use during sex since they’re low profile. They’re not too bulky so you can get pretty close together with it. Either partner can hold it on/around the clitoris for another layer of stimulation.

Our top 3 recs for bullets

  1. Soft by Playful Gigi
  2. Maia Jaguar Powerful Bullet
  3. ROMP Beat

Hands free options

So you like the idea of clitoral vibration stimulation during sex but really don't want to hold anything with your hands? I’ve got you - wearable options for Him and Her.

For Her

C shaped vibes like the WeVibe Chorus are designed to half sit in the vaginal canal against the G-spot, with the other half pressed against the vulva/clitoris. The internal part is also flat on one side with the idea a partner with a penis can also fit in there as well. WeVibe has a few different versions of the same idea to suit your preferences in terms of shape.

  1. Chorus

  2. Sync Lite

  3. Sync O

They’re also app/remote controllable which is a sorely underappreciated feature couples can make good use of - but more on that later.

For Him

Cock Rings have been around for millennia (don’t believe me then read this) and have improved majorly over the centuries. One such improvement is the invention of vibrating rings designed to pleasure both the wearer and their partner. Essentially you can give your schlong rabbit vibe attachment- while reaping the benefits of a ring: harder erections and delayed (more explosive) orgasms. Check out these options

  1. Pretty Love Powerful Ring

  2. SVAKOM Tyler

  3. ROMP Juke

Remote control options

Like I mentioned, I think remote control toys are overlooked by a lot of couples to be used together, I think this is because people often have a narrow idea of how sex toys can be used during sex (guys sex isn’t just Penis goes into Hole). Remote control toys open up whole new avenues to explore. For example:

  • Have one partner on the bed with a toy with the other person off to the side controlling the toy and watching the show. Hot - basically your own private cam show.

  • Wear a wearable vibe and give your partner the opportunity to turn it on whenever they want (the beautiful thing about this is anyone can do it- there are wearable toys for everybody so you can compete with each other)

There's heaps of remote control options these days, but my go to brand for remote control options is always gonna be Lovense. Everything in their range is designed to be used with the same app, and usually with couples in mind. I’d say our best sellers from them are:

  1. Lush 4. Check out a detailed review we also have of that one here

  2. Ferri

  3. Edge 2

Butt stuff

Everyone can participate in butt stuff, and for some reason some people (*cough cough cis straight men*) often forget that. In fact dare I say they should be the most open to giving it a crack and exploring the wonders of the male g-spot and prostate stimulation, but I digress.

The biggest thing to remember when exploring butt stuff as a couple (other than enthusiastic consent and making sure BOTH partners are excited to try but that goes without saying…right?) is to go slow and start small. And lube. Lots of lube, ideally a backdoor specific one: they last longer and are a lot thicker so they don’t slip and slide where you don’t put it.

  1. Set of three:This is a good place to start, and having the set means you can increase the size as you get more comfortable. The silicone is also a comfortable option since it glides in super easily (again with lots of lube)
  2. Prostate toys

  3. Strap-ons

  • Finding the perfect strap on is likely going to require some trial and error to find the right one.

  • I’d start with something like this ROMP pegging kit though if you’re unsure

In conclusion

My biggest piece of advice is think outside the box and remember that sex can and should be more than just penetrative intercourse. Think of how to best set the mood, build tension with a partner and find ways to use toys which are fun and satisfying for all parties.

Still not sure? Come chat with our friendly staff in store and we’ll find something perfect for you and your partner.
